If you are applying for an undergrad law program at these nine top universities in the UK in 2025 for entry in September 2026 (Autumn 2026), you need to take the LNAT in the 2025-2026 cycle.
Go to the LNAT official website and the admissions details page of the specific universities to reconfirm the official dates and deadlines. The details below are tentative; and liable to change.
The online registration and booking of LNAT test slots starts from the 1st August 2025.
LNAT testing starts on 1st September 2025, i.e. you can take the LNAT on or after 1st September 2025; but you will have to take the test before the college or university specific deadlines mentioned below.
The LNAT test has to be taken only at the Pearson VUE testing centers.
The LNAT can be taken on any day of the week, but the test slot has to be booked in advance.
Given that there will be limited number of test slots available at each center on any given day, the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting an appointment on the day of your choice; at the testing center of your choice.
Remember :
You can take the LNAT only once in any admission cycle, and the results are valid for that year only.
Previous year’s LNAT scores are not carried over subsequent years.
If you take the LNAT twice, the second attempt will be invalidated automatically.
Even if your scores in the second attempt are better than the first, only the scores from your first attempt will be sent to the universities.
Therefore, start your preparation early and give the LNAT your best shot.
Registration for the UCAS starts from the 1st of August.
The UCAS submissions will start from mid September.
You can take the LNAT before or after you send off your UCAS application. (Ensure that you adhere to the college specific deadlines).
Important :
If you register on the Pearson VUE website or take the LNAT before you complete your UCAS application, remember to enter your UCAS Personal Identifier number on your LNAT profile before you submit your UCAS application.
The UCAS Personal Identifier (a 10-digit number) is how the LNAT system identifies which universities you’ve applied to and sends your LNAT results (including your essay) to those specific institutions.
It is your responsibility to ensure the UCAS number is entered correctly and kept up-to-date on your LNAT profile.
You do not need your UCAS personal identifier number to register for the LNAT. You can enter 0000000000 instead (10 zeros) when you create your account on the LNAT website.
However, your real UCAS personal identifier number is needed for the universities to link your LNAT score to your UCAS application.
You must go back into your LNAT profile (On the LNAT website) and edit it as soon as you receive your real UCAS number (Do not include the hyphens).
Candidates not applying to UK universities can use the generic 0000000000 (10 zeros) in the UCAS number field on the LNAT website.
